LADY WARRIORS BRING HOME TOP HONORS FROM LCS TOURNAMENT

The Lady Warriors traveled just up I-45 to Conroe to play in a twelve team varsity girls tournament at Lifestyle Christian on Dec. 1-3.  Pool Play for the Warriors began with an easy win over Castle Hills, San Antonio, where everyone scored.  Later that afternoon, the team faced a tougher opponent in Austin Hill Country Christian but pulled away in the third quarter to win 45-27.  This placed the team in the Gold bracket on Saturday.  The Lady Warriors faced the Cougars of Conroe Covenant Saturday afternoon, and walked away with a convincing win advancing them to the Championship game.  They faced SATCH, a homeschool team in the 8:00 tip-off and it was a battle from beginning to end.  The lead changed several times until the Lady Warriors settled down in the second half and kept a 5 point lead for most of the game.  You can never let your guard down with the Lady Mavericks because they play until the last horn sounds.  They crept up on the Lady Warriors in the last minute of the game but the Warriors were determined to finish on top and they did, winning 40-39.  Katie Moore and Victoria Adeniran were selected to the All Tournament team and everyone had a great time.

There were also several compliments given to the team for their good character on the court and their sweet spirit.  It was a tremendous weekend in so many ways.  The Lady Warriors will play host to seven other teams Dec. 8-10 as the Warrior Classic takes place on our own campus.

The Lady Warriors are currently 8-1.
