K-6 Soccer Off to a Great Start

September 27, 2011

The CCS K-6 soccer season is off to a great start, as eleven of our teams took to the fields on Saturday, September 24, in record breaking heat, to play their hearts out in both victory and defeat! There are 140 Kindergarten – 6th grade students participating in the elementary soccer program through the West Houston Christian Sports Association, a league designed for private/parochial schools. Cypress Christian School has eleven teams with over forty volunteer parents acting as coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents. These volunteers are dedicating endless hours of time to inspire, impact, and positively influence our students by mentoring them and building hearts of champions.

Each Saturday, players will stand hand-in-hand with their coaches and teammates, along with the opposing teams (coaches and players), with bowed heads asking for God’s protection and guidance during the game. The same goes for the end of the games when all come together to praise God for his blessings during their time of fellowship. The prayers of the players are heartfelt as their little voices sincerely cry out to our Lord and Savior. And of course the most exciting time of the game… SNACKS!

Go Warriors!
