Homcoming Week was an exciting week.  Please view the photo gallery and see the list of activities that students and families enjoyed all week!

All School: Friday, October 14 

  • K-12 Dress: Blue and White Day-Show that school spirit with your Blue and White Warrior wear!
  • High School: Float/Car Contest – Each HS class has the opportunity to put a float/car in the parade. The best float/car will be announced at the pep rally.
  • High School: Every HS student will vote during first period for the Homecoming King and Queen, which will be announced at halftime of the football game on Friday.
  • Note: Due to early release, no lunches will be served on this day.

Elementary - Friday, October 14 Schedule

Homecoming Parade

  • 9:45 a.m. - Students line up for parade
  • 10:00 a.m. - Homecoming parade
  • 10:15 a.m. - As soon as the parade ends, students, parents, and faculty will all make their way to the football stadium for the pep rally.
  • 11:00 a.m. - Kindergarten Carpool begins
  • 11:15 a.m. - First through Fifth Grade Carpool begins
  • 11:30 a.m. - Secondary Carpool begins

Elementary - Tailgating

  • Our parents and students are invited to come to the football game in the evening. Some of you may wish to come and participate in “tailgating” before the game. Parents often bring portable barbecues or a picnic dinner and enjoy a meal together at the school. The tailgating area will be open at 5:00 p.m.
  • There is a special area designated for elementary families who wish to tailgate. Vehicles will back into parking spaces located near the girl’s softball field. There will be a sign on the baseball dugout that designates the area for elementary families who are tailgating.
  • Someone will be present to direct elementary families who will be participating in the tailgating to the area that has been taped off and reserved for that purpose. We may need some volunteer help with traffic. If you would like to help, please let me know.
  • Elementary students with their families are welcome to play on the ball field (Students should play inside the fenced area for safety).
  • Thank you for picking up trash at the end of the “tailgating” party.
  • For those who wish to come and purchase a meal, the junior class will be offering this service to you at the game. Please see attached flier.

Elementary - Game

  • 7:30 p.m. Game against Faith West begins- CCS Students and alumni are admitted free of charge to the game.
  • Your assistance with supervision of your children during the game is appreciated. The elementary playground will be closed.
  • Halftime- Homecoming Court is presented
  • At the start of the third quarter, the Alumni will gather on the track at the 50 yard line to get a group picture.

Secondary - Friday, October 14 Schedule

Parade Preparations

  • 9:15 a.m. – Students in the parade will be dismissed from class to dress and make final preparations on their floats. They will meet in the horseshoe area. All adult participants and vehicles need to be here at 9:00 a.m. so they can get in the proper order. The parade starts in the horseshoe area near the secondary office.
  • 9:45 a.m. – HS and MS students will take their place along both sides of Warrior Way in the designated areas.
  • Parent Parking: Parking for parents coming to see the parade and/or pep rally Friday morning will be on the grass near the softball field.

Parade

  • 10:00 a.m. – Parade begins.
  • Parade Route – Route will start from the Administration Building. The lead car will turn right on Cypress N. Houston, right on Jones Rd., right on Warrior Way. The vehicles will come straight down Warrior Way and turn right in front of the elementary building, then right again in front of the Annex, then left in the parking lot, and park on the grass behind the Sr. parking area.
  • As soon as the parade ends, students, parents, and faculty will all make their way to the football stadium for the pep rally.

Pep Rally

  • 10:15 a.m. – HS students will take the seats in the middle section of the stadium. MS will sit on the far section of the home stands. MS and HS have Spirit stick competition and the announcement of the Homecoming Week winners for decorations, participation, and spirit. There will be one MS and one HS winner. The class with the best spirit in the pep rally will win points.
  • (Note: At 11:00 a.m. Kindergarten carpool begins; at 11:15 a.m. 1st – 5th carpool begins).
  • 11:30 a.m. – Secondary is dismissed to carpool.

Friday Night

Parent Parking: All parking lots are open for parents, alumni, and spectators coming to the Homecoming game. Overflow parking is available on the grass near the softball field.

Tailgating - 5:00 p.m.

  • Jr. Class Fundraiser/”Stadium Tailgating” - Hamburger and Hot Dog Dinners will be sold under the blue tent near the fieldhouse. Hamburger meals are $5 and Hot Dog meals are $3. You must purchase a game ticket to get into the stadium area. You may get your hand stamped at the gate table if you need to leave the stadium area.
  • Personal Parking Lot Tailgating - Tailgating is allowed outside the stadium fence. Elementary parents may use the softball field and the area just behind the home dugout for their tailgate parties. (Children will need to play inside the fenced softball area for safety reasons.) Secondary families may use other parking areas as long as entrance/exit paths in the grass overflow or paved roads are not blocked.

Game

  • 7:30 p.m. – Homecoming Football Game Kick Off
  • CCS Warriors vs. Faith West Eagles
  • All CCS Students and CCS Alumni are FREE.
  • Secondary students, be sure to sign in at the tables just beyond the gate tables so your class can have a week of jeans and Spiritwear.
  • All open field areas between the softball field and MUF will be open for overflow parking.
  • During halftime, the Homecoming Court will be introduced and the King and Queen will be announced.
  • Alumni Picture at half-time before third quarter begins
  • Secondary: If 75% of the students in your class come to the football game (sign in at the gate), your class will receive one full week of jeans and Cypress t-shirts. Listen for the announcement during the third quarter of the Homecoming Game to find out which classes win.

Homecoming Dress Up Days / Contests for Secondary / Elementary Wagons

Homecoming week is a fun time for K-12 students to show their creativity and Warrior Spirit. Have a great time and enjoy a week of “NO PARKER.” (Please remember to follow CCS Dress Code rules, especially pertaining to lengths of skirts.)

  • Elementary will decorate wagons again this year for the Homecoming Parade
  • Secondary: We will count how many students participate each day and that will be points your grade will receive in the contest!!! We are looking for Creativity in your choices, not how much money you spent! Keep it creative!

Monday, October 10

  • Elementary: Each class is choosing a theme and the entire class is dressing up according to that theme.
  • MS Dress: Down on the Farm Day-Dress like a farmer or your favorite animal found on a farm.
  • HS Dress: Identical Day-Dress up like your friends, or better yet, team up and everyone in your class dress alike. See how many you can get to join in!
  • Secondary: Name that Senior Day – Check out the baby pictures on the Athletics bulletin board in the gym and see how many you can get right. Class member(s) with the most correct answers will win Warrior Bucks.

Tuesday, October 11

  • Elementary Dress: Each class in elementary is selecting a decade to reflect in their dress.
  • Secondary Dress: Flashback Day-Pick a favorite decade and go wild!
  • Secondary: FANATIC Day – Be sure to leave a message for the Warriors on video before school and at lunch. The BEST FAN will win Warrior Bucks.

Wednesday, October 12

  • K-12 Dress: Wacky Tacky Day-How crazy can you get!!!
  • Secondary: Door Decorations Contest – The doors will be judged on Wednesday after school. The winning doors will be announced at the Pep Rally. Prizes go to the Best Door in MS and the Best Door in HS.

Thursday, October 13

  • K-12 Dress: Sports Day-Support your favorite sports team (any sport – MS, HS, college, professional) by wearing team jerseys, t-shirts, etc.
  • Secondary: Sr. King and Queen candidates give their testimonies in chapel on this day.
  • Everyone: HS Girls Powder Puff Football Game – 7:00 p.m. at the football field – Come and join in on the fun. Admission is free – Concessions will be open!!! Bring the family!

Friday, October 14

  • Parade finishes and the entire student body will go to the stadium together.
  • 10:20: Pep Rally - MS and HS have Spirit stick competition and the announcement of the Homecoming Week winners for decorations, participation, and spirit. There will be one MS and one HS winner. The class with the best spirit in the pep rally will win points.
  • 10:45: Elementary leaves Pep Rally to prepare for carpool
  • 11:00: Early release will begin with Kindergarten
  • 11:15: Regular elementary carpool
  • 11:30: Secondary carpool

Note: Due to early release, no lunches will be served on this day.
 

TAILGATE PARTY AND HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME AT WARRIOR FIELD

  • Tailgate party is from 5:00 p.m. to game time.  Hamburger ($5) and hot dog ($3) meals include chips and drink. Proceeds benefit the Junior class and Project Prom.
  • Game: 7:30 p.m. Cypress Christian vs. Faith West Academy
  • King and Queen will be announced at half-time of football game on Friday night.
  • Alumni Picture at half-time before third quarter begins

Secondary: If 75% of the students in your class come to the football game (sign in at the gate), your class will receive one full week of jeans and Cypress t-shirts. Listen for the announcement during the third quarter of the Homecoming Game to find out which classes win!
