Faculty and Administrators Attend ACSI Teachers' Convention

February 7, 2012

On February 2 and 3, Cypress Christian School’s faculty participated in the Association of Christian School International’s South Central Teachers' Convention in Galveston, Texas. These busy days were filled with small and large group teacher training and professional development sessions led by outstanding educators, specialists, and authors. The break-out sessions allowed teachers to choose from several tracks including training seminars specifically for elementary teachers, secondary teachers, or for addressing specific issues relating to school administration. The convention also allowed for the opportunity for teachers to take philosophy of Christian education classes required for updating teacher credentials. During the time away from campus, teachers had occasion to meet with fellow teachers in their specific departments for internal planning, and had the opportunity to meet with faculty members from other schools to gain from their perspectives and experiences. The convention reminded all that our school and faculty are part of a global enterprise of providing Christian education to the next generation of warriors for the kingdom.
