Elementary Student Earns First Place at Regional Spelling Bee

January 13, 2012

Congratulations to CCS 5th grader Allison Strange who earned the "District Champion" title at the Regional ACSI District Spelling Bee.  Allison competed in two different bees.  She earned a gold medal for the best in the 5th grade bee and a plaque for the best in the “Spell-off” held for all of the 5-8th grade contestants that were in first or second place. She is the District Champion! Her achievement in the "Spell-off" qualified her to participate in the Dallas Spelling Bee on March 10, 2012.

All CCS spelling bee participants worked very hard and we are so very proud of them!  Congratulations to our participants from grades 3 – 8: Emily Mahan, Vynna Chitole, Shelby Zerwas, Catherine Perry, Desi Brewer, Allison Strange, Sophia Slabic, Sohriya Brown, Gabby Kostecki, Josh Yough, Jenny Dang, and Paige Jackson.

God was certainly glorified throughout the day. We all have special talents that are given to us from out heavenly Father. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us that "each of us should use whatever gift we have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
