Duchesne Tournament Results

MS Girls Place Third in tournament

January 9, 2012

The Middle School girls played in the Duchesne tournament over the weekend and came away with a trophy for their efforts. They girls won the consolation bracket on Saturday afternoon with a 3 – 0 victory over a very physical Emery team. Our goals were scored by Kailey Shanks, Lauren Story and Audrey Floyd. Our assists came from Korey Cyr and 2 by Audrey Floyd. To get to the final the girls had to win a hard fought game against the Village School. The score of this game was 2 – 1 in favor of the Warriors. Our goals were scored by Lauren Story and Kailey Shanks. Our only loss came at the hands of John Cooper on Friday afternoon 4 – 0. The score does not indicate how hard the girls played. Our defense was outstanding the entire tournament and was the deciding factor in the two victories. Two CCS players were selected as All Tournament players, Emily Fredrickson (Mimi) and Kory Yankowski (Ski). Any one of the girls could have been selected for these honors with their play and as far as I’m concerned they were all All Tournament!

Also, we would like to thank Darrel Abramowitz for assisting with the coaching on Saturday. Having an extra set of eyes on the sideline was a big help and was greatly appreciated.
