Commencement 2010

Catherine Crozier was recognized as the Class of 2010 Valedictorian, the Texas Association’s Highest Ranking Graduate Award. With this honor, she receives a tuition-paid scholarship to the public Texas University of her choice. Cat has accepted this scholarship to study English at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. In her speech, she expressed her thanks to parents, teachers, and fellow graduates for 13 years of fun, challenges, and love.
Salutatorian Hallie Salmon thanked parents for all they had done over their years including homework help, volunteer work, and financial support. She addressed parents saying, “All of this you have done willingly because you believe in the benefits of a Christian education." Hallie has attended CCS since fifth grade and has proven her superior academic achievement to receive the honor of Salutatorian. She plans to major in Education at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Senior Class President Brian Fredrich addressed graduates, parents, family members and friends saying, “I can say with absolute certainty that every one of us has learned far more than mere academics during our time at CCS. We recognize that the Christian education foundation that has been laid for us is stronger than what we would have received at any other institution."
Will Rhodes Athletic Scholarship - Catherine Crozier and Joshua Rodriguez
This scholarship was established in memory of former CCS student William David Rhodes. Each year there are two recipients: one male and one female. The recipients of this award are CCS students who make public profession of their faith in Jesus Christ, who demonstrate Christ-like behavior to fellow students and athletes, and whose lives are living witnesses to others as they lead their teams and follow their coaches.
CCS Christian Character Scholarship - Brian Fredrich and Joshua Rodriguez
The CCS Christian Character Scholarship was established to recognize one or more graduating seniors who have demonstrated Christ-like qualities throughout high school by being humble in spirit, outspoken in faith, a strong witness in the community, a model of integrity, and a good friend to all.
Spirit of Paul Scholarship - Brian Fredrich
The Spirit of Paul Scholarship was established to encourage students to develop and display the driving spirit and perseverance of the Apostle Paul, who accomplished much for the early church. The recipient of this award has exhibited that same drive and perseverance. This CCS scholarship is funded in part by donations in memory of loved ones who have died. This year CCS wishes to honor the memory of Audrey L. Cook, mother of Robert Cook; Carolyn Kay Shriver, mother-in-law of Becky Morgan; Benny Mason, father of Vicki Moore; Jimmy Roland, father of Cindy Wilhite; and Lucille Kunkel, grandmother of Karen McGrath and Kim Moon.
Faculty Scholarship for Academic Excellence - Catherine Crozier
The Faculty Scholarship for Academic Excellence was founded to give the faculty of CCS the opportunity to recognize a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding effort to achieve overall academic excellence.
Dornbusch Science Scholarship - Rachael Elkins
This scholarship was established to recognize one or more graduating seniors who plans to pursue an education in the field of science.
Fine Arts Scholarships - Joshua Rodriguez (Music), Danielle Mason (Design) and Brian Fredrich (Drama)
Cypress Christian School has a rich heritage of producing students who excel in the areas of music, art and drama. These Fine Arts Scholarships reflect an overall excellence in the arts.
Principal’s Award (Certificate & Medal) - Brian Fredrich
This honor is awarded to a senior for outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, and spiritual growth.
