Michael Anderson, CCS Class of '04 and Texas A&M Class of '08, recently accepted a full-tuition scholarship and research fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He is pursuing his PhD in Computer Science, with research interests funded by the Department of Defense and (DARPA) Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. This change marks the close of a two and a half year career at Hewlett-Packard Company in Houston, TX. Michael hopes this new opportunity will grow his technical skills and lead to the discovery of new applications in both business and the spread of the gospel.
Michelle Anderson Cowan, Class of '06, and husband, Jesse, will be moving to Denver, CO in mid-September. Jesse has accepted positions at Fellowship Denver Church (Sound/Media) and Sports Authority (Outdoor Equipment Sales). Michelle, graduate of UT Arlington with a social work degree, has accepted a position as a Case Worker for the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. She also plans to pursue a masters degree in Christian Counseling at Denver Seminary.
Daniel Ambrose, Class of '06, married Lindsay Church on July 30, 2011 at Briscoe Manor in Richmond, TX. Daniel and Lindsay met at Baylor University where Daniel graduated with a Real Estate/Financial Planning degree and Lindsay received a masters degree in social work. Other former CCS students and alumni who participated in the ceremony were Steve Tchiengang, Kyle Ambrose, Michael Ambrose, Amy Ambrose (Class of '07), Matthew Schroeder (Class of '07), Kara Schroeder (Class of '06), Louie Lee (Class of '06), and Melissa Jurney (Class of '07). Daniel and Lindsay now reside in Cypress, TX.
Beau Adam, Class of '06, graduated from Texas Tech University on August 6, 2011, with a psychology degree. Beau will take the GRE this month and apply for graduate school to earn his masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. He hopes to open his own practice one day. Beau is engaged to Jamie Smith. Their wedding is planned for August 4, 2012 in Houston.
Lindsay Adam, Class of '08, is engaged to Ricardo Santos. They met at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Ricardo is a 2011 graduate with a business degree. They will be married May 19, 2012 in Cypress, Texas and plan to live in Temple, Texas, while Lindsay finishes her last semester of nursing school to graduate in December 2012. Lindsay hopes to work for Scott and White Hospital.
