Sixth grade students are having a great time studying chemistry in science class! Last week, they were challenged to design an object that is too dense to float but not so dense that it would sink to the bottom of a beaker filled with water. Each team of two students was given several common household items to use to design their unique object. They were asked to incorporate the steps of the scientific method to approach “the problem” in a systematic way.
What a fun way to continue to develop critical thinking skills!
