Coach Bretz's two seventh-grade classes opened up the year by reading Tim Tebow's book "Shaken". The main theme of the book is that our identity is defined not by changing circumstances, but by an unchanging God. Tebow talks about how he thought he was in the right place or on the right team, but God had other plans for his life. These plans weren't always easy, like when the Denver Broncos traded him, but he came to the realization that God had a better plan for him. He also talked about how he was criticized and torn down for his religious beliefs.
The classes talked about when circumstances in their lives don't go how they've planned. How do they react? Do they still trust God to guide them and know what's best for them?
It was a great reminder of how much God loves each one of us.
