On Friday, March 9, 2018, elementary students enjoyed a fun day of field activities with the help of high school students in the Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Joseph, Judah, Simeon and Zebulun Warrior Tribes. This event is held each year to promote inter-grade camaraderie and to develop an awareness of what it is like to be part of a team. It's a great day for young students to experience competition and practice winning with humility and losing with dignity - all with the help of their older buddies by their side.
About Tribal Competition
Each child is assigned a tribe (team) when they first enter school at CCS. They will remain with this team until they move on to the next level. The teams are divided into the tribes (sons) of Israel. Each tribe member competes to earn awards individually and points for their team. As a finale to the competition, each tribe competes in the annual Tug-of-War tournament. In this event, the tribe competes together at the same time and includes all students in grades K-5.
The events are named after events during the exodus of Israel from Egypt. Each event is demonstrated during P.E. so that students have seen the event before the actual competition.
