The engineering classes recently studied civil engineering. Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally-built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings and railways. After some in-class lessons and discussions, the students were given the engineering drawings of the CCS campus. The class walked the campus and identified key components on the drawings. After utilizing the professional drawings, the students completed the activity with stops in the East and West Gyms. The students were given the opportunity to create their own engineering drawings of the inside of the gyms.
