Class Trips

| During the year, secondary students enjoy field trips to the George Bush Library in College Station, to the Texas Capitol, as well as to Moody Gardens, the Regional IV Science Center and to various museums and theater performances. Additionally, many visit the Star of Hope to serve food, sort clothing and replenish the food pantry as they learn about serving the community. | |
Each year, eighth graders head to historic and picturesque Williamsburg and Fredericksburg, Virginia and onto Washington, D.C. in early May. After an evening tour of Williamsburg and a tour of the Fredericksburg battleground and cemetery, they enjoy a 3-day visit to D.C. The highlight of the trip is often a photo opportunity in front of the White House. Other activities include a visit to Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown. Tour Guides add historic insight and narration to the experience.
Senior Class Trip
A new Class Trip tradition began with the Class of 2004. CCS seniors and chaperones depart in mid-May for a week long trip to the beautiful country of Costa Rica. They enjoy the sights and sounds and people of the country, as well as the local cuisine.
A portion of the trip is devoted to taking the gospel to the people of Costa Rica. The group focuses on impoverished areas that surround the city of San Jose where they share the "Good News" using the Spanish they learn at CCS.
During their stay, seniors enjoy the beautiful scenery, white-water rafting, relaxing in Hot Springs, zipping through the rain forest, playing soccer with the locals and touring museums and historical sites. (See related story/photos in the Summer CONNECTION, page 2)
Seniors and chaperones participate in devotions throughout their trip.
