Board of Directors

Trustees, or board members of Christian schools have a sacred trust: to guard the school's mission, guarantee its financial health, advise and provide a system offering a biblically-based education. The Board of Directors sets the educational and business policies of the school and the school's Head Administrator executes these policies while supervising the faculty and staff.

  • The nine members of the CCS board are parents of CCS students and are either elected to serve 2- or 3-year terms, or are appointed to fill the terms of previous board members. Three board positions are " representative" positions that do not require the board member to have a student at the school.
  • Board members are elected in the spring by members of the CCS Society, Inc. The terms are staggered for continuity, with no more than three positions being filled at one time.
  • The Board meets monthly, typically on the third Tuesday and typically in the secondary teacher workroom at 6:30 p.m.
  • Board meetings are open to school parents. Visitors can request prior approval to talk with prior approval by the president to be included on the agenda.
  • Faculty and board members work with the Nominating Committee to identify potential board members for election each Spring.

Board Basics

The Board of Directors retains the highest level of organizational accountability and must, therefore, insure that organizational ends are achieved.  This commitment to organizational achievement requires that the Board clearly articulate its desired outcomes; that it rigorously monitors the school’s progress toward achieving those outcomes; and that it remain steadfast in meeting the needs of its constituents.  CCS is a “constituent” focused ministry.  We do not exist to provide jobs for teachers and staff.  We hire qualified teachers and staff to meet the needs of our constituents.  This “constituent-first” philosophy is consistent with the Biblical principals principles that state “in giving you receive” “in dying you live” and “those who would be first would be last.”  Jesus’ life of self-sacrifice and service to others shape this model of “others-first” service.

The driving passion of the CCS Board of Directors is to create a unique environment for learning where; 1) Students are encouraged to find their own love and passion for Christ 2) Students are challenged academically to achieve their highest individual potential and 3) Students are able to process modern thought through the lens of Scripture to make biblical decisions. We desire for all of this to occur in the context of facilities and curricular and extra-curricular programs that are second to none, while creating a general environment that is described as loving, warm, supportive and encouraging.

It is to these ends that the Board of Directors has committed itself and to which it holds the remainder of the organization accountable.
