"The Mission of CCS is to produce students of Christian families that are academically prepared with a Biblical worldview to take their place in the world as servants of Jesus Christ."
Non-Discriminatory Admissions Policy - Cypress Christian School admits students of any race, color, gender, nationality, or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, nationality, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational and admissions policies, and athletic and other school programs.
Our Purpose - To provide a thorough academic education built upon a biblical view of life. God as Creator of life and reality is the focus of a Christian education. In addition, His Word serves as the authoritative standard of truth.
Statement of Faith - We believe:
- That the Bible is God's inerrant Word in the original manuscripts and the only authority for doctrine and practice
- In the Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit
- That salvation is a free gift, paid for by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ for all who trust Him as their Savior
- That Jesus Christ is the one and only way to the Father and, thereby, to eternal life
- In the literal resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and in the same resurrection to eternal life for all who are saved, while the unsaved will spend eternity in hell
- In the literal return of Jesus Christ
Affiliation - Cypress Christian School is a non-denominational, independent Christian school ministering to Christian families in northwest Houston, TX. CCS is accredited (Grades K-12) by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), which is recognized by Texas Education Association (TEA) the Texas Private School Accreditation Committee (TPSCA). ACSI has over 5,000 member schools that represent 1,020,000 students in 115 countries.
Guidelines and Information - The following policies and information apply to students seeking admission to CCS:
- At least one parent must give a written account of how they came to know the Lord and be in agreement with CCS Statement of Faith and Mission statement.
- Students must have a record of good behavior entering grades 1-12.
- No student who is currently suspended, expelled, on academic or disciplinary probation, or required to attend an alternative learning center may be considered for admission to CCS.
- Students in grades K-3 are given the Gesell School Readiness Assessment to determine developmental age and proper placement.
- Students must demonstrate a capacity to academically succeed at CCS on the Reading and Math sections on the Stanford Achievement Test administered by a CCS examiner. Achievement scores from previous school will be accepted for consideration if taken within one year of application date. (TAKS does not meet our achievement test requirement.)
- A family interview is conducted with parent(s) or guardian(s) K - 12. Students and both parents in grades 6-12 are required to attend the interview. After the interview the Admissions Committee will review all paperwork and determine admittance or denial of admittance. Decisions by the Admissions Committee are final.
- No provisions are available for children requiring special education. The school's Learning Center does, however, provide assistance for some learning differences. (Additional fees are charged for these services.)
- The application process may take a minimum of two weeks to complete. Some applications may take longer to process depending on testing and scheduling needs. The admissions office will make every effort to expedite each application.
- Applicants transferring from a high school not regionally accredited by TEA, SACS, or other state or regional accrediting agency or transferring from home-based instruction must take and pass a credit-by-exam test in every course for which they wish to receive credit. (Additional fees are charged for these services.)
- Applicants must be free of severe learning or behavioral difficulties. A limited number of students with learning difficulties, capable of success in a traditional classroom and meeting all CCS admission requirements, may be eligible for the NILD (Discovery) program. NILD students are average to above average in intelligence and ability. Applicants for NILD must submit results from recent educational diagnostic testing or submit to NILD testing through CCS. (Additional fees are charged for these services.)
Upon receiving all of the above documents, and testing (if needed), the family interview is held. Family interviews with the Admissions Committee can only be scheduled upon completion of all the above. Notification of student acceptance will be made within five (5) working days of the family interview.
Please call our Admissions Office at 281-469-7745 for any additional information needed.
